COST AND DESCRIPTION
Pom Technique/Hip Hop Tricks: Every Tuesday.
Open to Intermediate and Advanced dancers.
Monthly Cost: $40
BEGINNER (Typically age 3 to age 8/9, or by instructor recommendation)
Beginner Pom:
Style: Pom style is focused on sharp, precise, movements and quickness of motion. Students will learn cheerleading types of dance motions and learn how to provide high energy to fun dances. Students will be provided with Pom Poms to dance with during class.
Format: The first half of class is spent learning Beginner Pom technique (kicks, intro to single turns, jumps, etc.). The second half of class is spent learning choreography to a Pom routine I choreograph.
Beginner Jazz:
Style: Jazz style is focused on big, dramatic movements and quickness of motion. Jazz style is sassy and is the most closely related style to Mallory’s experience as a Colts Cheerleader. It’s a fun style of dance and incorporates some technique like kicks and leaps.
Format: The entire class time will be spent learning Beginner Jazz style and learning choreography to a Jazz routine I choreograph. Students will also have a chance to give input in some choreography creation.
Beginner Hip Hop:
Style: Hip Hop style is focused on attitude and expression in dancing. It is a hard-hitting style that includes movements like footwork, tricks, body rolls, etc. Hip Hop is upbeat and focused on rhythm and movement to the music.
Format: The first half of class is spent learning Beginner Hip Hop technique (basic footwork, style, etc.). The second half of class is spent learning choreography to a Hip Hop routine I choreograph.
INTERMEDIATE (Typically age 8/9 to age 11/12, or by instructor recommendation)
